Seether aren’t easing off the gas, the bands latest EP ‘Beneath The Surface’ is a four track release that digs into unreleased material, while pulling energy straight from the stage.
The new Seether EP ‘Beneath The Surface’ has been on heavy rotation since it’s release on Friday (April 17th), the EP expands on the world built around their recent album ‘The Surface Seems So Far’, but strips it back to something more immediate and unpolished.
New material cuts through
At the centre is lead single ‘Into The Ground’, a track that leans hard into Seether’s bread and butter, dark atmosphere, tension simmering under the surface, then cracking open into something heavier:
It’s paired with ‘Proud Daddy’, another studio cut pulled from recent sessions, giving fans a look at material that didn’t make the original album cycle but still carries weight.

Frontman Shaun Morgan framed the release simply:
‘This EP is about digging deeper—past what’s on the surface and into the things that really drive us.’ He added: ‘It’s a mix of new ideas and the energy we feel when we’re playing live. We wanted to give fans something real and immediate.’
Live energy, no filter
The back half of the EP shifts gears, bringing in live recordings of ‘Lost All Control’ and ‘Judas Mind’, captured during a SiriusXM Octane session.
These aren’t polished, studio perfect versions, they hit rougher, louder, and closer to how Seether actually sound when the amps are cranked and there’s no room to hide.
Bassist Dale Stewart didn’t hold back on his excitement either: ‘I’m really stoked about our new EP. We’ve been sitting on some great material that I can’t wait to get out to the fans.’ He singled out the new tracks, adding: ‘“Into the Ground” really gets me pumped and “Proud Daddy” is one of my favourite songs from the last sessions we did.’
Still locked into their lane
Seether have been doing this long enough to know exactly where they sit, since forming in 1999, they’ve carved out a lane built on post-grunge grit and alternative metal hooks, stacking chart hits and radio dominance along the way.
‘Beneath The Surface’ doesn’t reinvent that formula, it sharpens it and shows there’s plenty left in the tank.
