Sepultura are closing the book the only way they know how, with one last creative swing.
The Brazilian metal institution has just released new single ‘Beyond The Dream’, offering another glimpse into their upcoming farewell EP The Cloud Of Unknowing, set for an April 24th release.
A final chapter takes shape
After more than four decades, Sepultura’s farewell era is in full motion, with the band currently on their ‘Celebrating Life Through Death’ tour, instead of quietly stepping offstage, they’re choosing to document one last piece of the story.
‘Beyond The Dream’ lands as the second single from the EP, and it leans into something slightly unexpected, it’s reflective, slower, and deliberately stripped back compared to the band’s usual blunt force delivery.

A different side of Sepultura
In their own words, the track carries serious weight.
“‘Beyond the Dream’ emerges as one of the most emblematic moments of Sepultura’s final chapter, serving as a poetic reflection of a journey shaped by decades of albums, tours, and life on the road.”
It’s also a box the band hadn’t properly ticked until now, a ballad, built with intent rather than compromise.
“This previously unreleased composition fulfills a long-standing desire of the band to explore the ballad format…”
To get there, Sepultura pulled in Sérgio Britto and Tony Bellotto of Titãs, tying together two key threads of Brazilian music history, it’s less a feature and more a shared moment between artists who’ve crossed paths for decades.
Not going out quietly
The EP itself is shaping up as a four track send off, described as one of the band’s more emotionally charged releases, that tracks, if you’re wrapping up 40 years, you don’t do it halfway.
With 14 gold records and shows across more than 80 countries, Sepultura’s legacy is already locked in. This final release isn’t about proving anything, it’s about closing the loop on their own terms.
One last release before the end
The Cloud Of Unknowing will drop on April 24th, available across multiple vinyl variants including oxblood, transparent petrol, crystal clear, and transparent red, each bundled with a CD version.

There’s a sense of finality hanging over this one, but it doesn’t feel forced, more like a band taking a breath before stepping off for good.
