Sevendust Drag Themselves Back From The Grave In ‘Threshold’ Video

Share

Sevendust aren’t easing into their next chapter, they’re clawing their way out of the dirt.

Atlanta heavyweights Sevendust have released ‘Threshold’, the latest single from their upcoming album ONE, alongside a twisted claymation video that sees the band literally resurrected for profit.

With their 15th studio album landing May 1st via Napalm Records, Sevendust are leaning into both their legacy and their ability to still sound dangerous nearly three decades deep.

‘Threshold’ hits with that familiar Sevendust weight, thick grooves, sharp hooks, and Lajon Witherspoon sitting right in the middle of it all, pushing back against pressure and manipulation.

“You want another piece of me, don’t ya? To break apart so you get what you wanted?”

It’s not subtle, and it’s not meant to be, the track leans into frustration and resilience, the kind of emotional tension Sevendust have built their entire catalogue on.

Claymation fun continues

The video picks up where ‘Fence’ left off, bringing back animator Ollie Jones and doubling down on the band’s warped visual narrative.

This time, a greedy agent digs up the band’s decayed bodies and forces them back on tour, reanimating them with the same strange substance that kicked things off in the first place. It’s absurd on the surface, but there’s an obvious bite underneath, a not so gentle jab at the machinery that keeps bands moving long after they’ve burned out.

By the end, the band are fully under his control, and it doesn’t exactly scream happy ending.

‘ONE’ builds on a long legacy

If ‘Threshold’ is anything to go by, ONE isn’t a band coasting on history, early details point to a record that swings between heavy impact and more atmospheric moments, from the opening punch of the title track through to the softer edges of ‘Misdirection’.

January’s lead single ‘Is This The Real You’ already clocked over 1.3 million views in under six weeks, which suggests fans are still locked in for whatever direction Sevendust take next.

Nearly 30 years in, that’s not nothing.

Sevendust have always existed in that space between aggression and melody, never fully leaning one way or the other. ONE looks set to keep that balance intact, while pushing just enough to avoid feeling like a repeat of past glories.
