Shinedown have officially released their long awaited new album EI8HT, marking another massive milestone for one of modern rock’s most commercially dominant bands.
Arriving today via Atlantic Records, EI8HT sees the multi platinum outfit continuing to push beyond the boundaries of mainstream rock while leaning harder into emotional honesty, massive hooks and arena sized ambition.
The release arrives during a huge moment for the band, who recently extended their record for the most number one songs in the history of Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart and Mediabase Active Rock chart thanks to latest single ‘Safe And Sound’.

Ahead of the album’s arrival, tracks including ‘Dance, Kid, Dance’, ‘Killing Fields’, ‘Searchlight’, ‘Outlaw’ and crossover hit ‘Three Six Five’ helped generate massive momentum, collectively racking up more than 91 million streams before release day.
Frontman Brent Smith explained the band approached the record with inclusivity and connection at its core (per press release):
“From the very beginning, this band has always been about people,” Smith said. “This album was built for everyone. No matter where you come from, what you believe, what you’re carrying, or what you’re trying to overcome, there’s something in this record for you.”

Produced by bassist Eric Bass at his Big Animal Studio in Charleston, EI8HT continues Shinedown’s evolution beyond traditional hard rock formulas. The album balances emotionally vulnerable songwriting with explosive choruses, modern production and the kind of arena ready energy that has helped the band maintain global success for more than two decades.
Despite already achieving over 8.3 billion streams worldwide and selling more than 10 million albums globally, Shinedown continue expanding their audience well beyond rock circles. Their music has increasingly crossed into alternative, pop and mainstream radio while maintaining a dedicated heavy music fanbase.
