A24 Drops New Trailer For Jeremy Saulnier’s Slayground

A24 has released a new trailer for Jeremy Saulnier’s Slayground, a Halloween thriller with music by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross.

A24 released the footage on 20 October in the US. Cory Michael Smith leads the cast as scare actor “Metal Mike” Graves.

According to A24’s synopsis, Mike wakes inside a haunted attraction to find his colleagues dead around him. He cannot remember what happened. With police mounting a statewide search, he has to work out who was responsible, including whether the evidence points back to him.

Smith is joined by Chase Sui Wonders, Sophie Wilde, Stanley Simons, Young Mazino, Stephen Root and Chris Sullivan. The ensemble also includes James Badge Dale, Imogen Poots, Matty Matheson and Macon Blair. Wilde previously starred in Talk to Me, while Smith’s recent films include Saturday Night.

Poots previously worked with Saulnier on Green Room, his 2016 film about a punk band trapped backstage after witnessing a killing. That film starred Anton Yelchin and Patrick Stewart, with a disastrous Oregon gig becoming a fight to get out of the venue alive.

Badge Dale also reunites with Saulnier after Hold The Dark. More recently, the director made Rebel Ridge, the 2024 Netflix thriller starring Aaron Pierre and Don Johnson. It went on to win the Emmy for Outstanding Television Movie.

Nine Inch Nails’ Reznor and Ross are providing the score for Slayground, as Fangoria reports. The film’s producers include Rich Peete, Eli Bush, Saulnier and Skei Saulnier. Macon Blair also serves as an executive producer alongside his place in the cast.

This follows an earlier promotional campaign for the film, which was originally known as October. TheWrap reports that a teaser shown with Resident Evil directed viewers to RunLikeHell.com, where a countdown led to the new trailer. That earlier teaser had advertised a release this northern autumn.

Slayground now has a US cinema release of 29 January 2027. A24 has not listed an Australian release date on the film’s official page. Watch the new trailer below.
