Slipknot Has Delayed ‘Look Outside Your Window’ Again For A New 2026 Release

Slipknot founding member M. Shawn “Clown” Crahan has revealed in a new Discord Q&A that the band has once again delayed their long-awaited album, Look Outside Your Window, to 2026.

Slipknot fans who were banking on getting to listen to the long-awaited metal album Look Outside Your Window before the end of the year just received a very disappointing update.

The update comes from founding member and percussionist M. Shawn “Clown” Crahan, who told fans during a recent Discord Q&A that the album won’t be released this year.

“Lets start with LOYW, i know I told everyone it would be this year. I’m very sorry [it] hasn’t been. Things come to play that change things all the time with the art we create. I want you to know 2026 is the year. It’s just simply time and I’m just getting tired of waiting myself. Have faith. I promise.”

Fans have been clamouring for an official release of the album for years. The album in question was recorded all the way back in 2008, around the same time as All Hope Is Gone, and has since been promised for release at multiple points. In 2019, Clown said it would be released on Christmas Day. Clown would later share that it was coming out in 2024, before the masked musician revealed it had been handed off to management with an imminent release.

Needless to say, as a fan, updates like this are sure to be annoying, but hardly surprising at this point.

Even former members of Slipknot are exhausted by the endless delays. Last year, guitarist Jim Root revealed in an interview with Metal Hammer he’s ready leak the album himself if it wasn’t released soon.

“Man, I keep telling Clown that I’m just gonna throw it up on YouTube, then put a link to it on my Instagram or something. He’s like, ‘Don’t dude, just don’t.’”

Regardless, until the album is officially out and in your ears, it’s best to stay sceptical of any update, no matter how promising it sounds.
