The Santa Barbara metal and punk crossover crew have confirmed they have completed five new songs for their long awaited studio album.
This marks the Snot’s first recorded material with new vocalist Andy Knapp, the album is currently being recorded with producer, engineer, and mixer Chris Collier, and more details are expected soon.
The band shared an update via social media writing:
“Snot is excited to announce that the band has been writing and recording brand-new music, and the momentum is strong! The process has been going exceptionally well with five new songs already completed.”

Guitarist Mikey Doling echoed that excitement from inside the studio. “The energy coming out of the studio has been undeniable. We’ve been working hard writing and recording… When I listen back to what we’ve been doing, I get chills and fill up with crazy excitement.”
This release will be Snot’s first with Knapp, who made his live debut with the band in January 2025 in Anaheim, according to bassist John ‘Tumor’ Fahnestock, finding the right vocalist was the missing piece that finally pushed Snot from nostalgia into full resurgence.
“We’re pretty much saying SNOT is back at this point,” Fahnestock previously told Heavy. “We finally found, in Andy, what we basically were dreaming of having… it’s a blessing to have found Andy and what he’s doing.”
That renewed energy has been obvious on stage, Fahnestock described emotional scenes on recent tours, saying fans young and old were singing every word.
“There are 16-year-olds and they’re singing our songs and they knew all the lyrics and they’re f***ing losing their mind.”
True to their roots
The band insists the new material stays true to their roots, “Mikey picks up a guitar and it smells like Snot, bro,” Fahnestock said. “It’s f***ing eerie… it sounds like [late singer] Lynn Strait should be there.”
Doling has also stressed that Snot are not chasing trends. “It’s funky. It’s punk. It’s got attitude. It sounds like old Snot… we wanna keep it like 1996, ’97.”
