Steven Spielberg’s Disclosure Day Gets An Intriguing First Teaser

Share

Steven Spielberg is returning to science fiction, and we have a maddeningly oblique teaser trailer to prove it.

Steven Spielberg is returning to science fiction, and he’s bringing Emily Blunt and Josh O’Connor with him. And that’s about all we know at this point about Disclosure Day, which appears to be an alien invasion/first contact sort of dealio. Given that Spielberg previously gave us Close Encounters Of The Third Kind, E.T. The Extraterrestrial, and War Of The Worlds, that’s enough to get our motors running.

Disclosure Day Teaser

What’s the plot?

All we have is this incredibly brief and foreboding tagline:

If you found out we weren’t alone, if someone showed you, proved it to you, would that frighten you? This summer, the truth belongs to seven billion people. We are coming close to … Disclosure Day.

So, the obvious take here is aliens, right? And possibly some kind of shapeshifting, infiltrating aliens who are already living among us. Unless that’s what they want you to think…

Who’s in it?

Don’t expect too many character details at this point – even Emily Blunt is simply “a weatherwoman” right now, but:

  • Emily Blunt.
  • Josh O’Connor.
  • Colin Firth.
  • Eve Hewson.
  • Colman Domingo.
  • Wyatt Russell.
  • Elizabeth Marvel.
  • Henry Lloyd-Hughes.
  • Michael Gaston.
  • Mckenna Bridger.
  • Elliot Villar.
  • Tommy Martinez.
  • Patricia Conolly as Ruth
  • Noah Robbins.
  • Chavo Guerrero Jr.
  • Lance Archer.
  • Brian Cage.
  • Gabby Beans.

When’s it out?

Disclosure Day is getting a US release on June 12, 2026. We’ll probably get it around the same time, but no official local release date has been set.

What’s the vibe?

While a new Steven Spielberg film isn’t the massive event it used to be, a new Steven Spielberg science fiction film ought to have you sitting up in your seat a little. Hopefully the next trailer will explain a bit more of the concept, though.
