StubHub have apologised after a listing error incorrectly sent Lamb of God fans to a Christian Christmas concert in South Carolina.
Stubhub have issued an apology after accidentally sending eager fans of the heavy metal band Lamb of God in South Carolina to a Christian concert about the birth of Jesus Christ.
The error would see fans of the Virginia-based metal band turn up at the Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium on December 20, eager to catch ‘Laid to Rest’ live, only to discover they were attending Christian musician Andrew Peterson’s ‘Behold the Lamb of God’, which features music about the life of Christ.
Leading up to the event, StubHub had listed a photo of Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe and had even listed the concert as a top-trending event at the Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium, according to CBS affiliate WSPA.
What made the event all the more peculiar is that Lamb of God are not scheduled to perform until March 2026 and have made no announcements of dates in South Carolina.
Realising their error, StubHub have since apologised for the confusion and offered refunds for anyone who purchased tickets to the show.
“We acknowledge the listing for the December 20 event at Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium was misleading and apologise for the confusion this caused,” a StubHub spokesperson said. “Ahead of the show, we updated the event page and reached out to customers to clarify the event details. Anyone who purchased tickets under the impression this was a different performance is encouraged to contact us — we’ll honour a full refund under our FanProtect Guarantee.”
Blythe would joke about the incident on his Instagram Story, reposting various news reports with the caption, “Oopsie” and “Merry Christmas Spartanburg”.
One can only hope that when Lamb of God inevitably make their way back to South Carolina, the band performs their own rendition of ‘Behold the Lamb of God’.
