Sunk Loto are back in the room where it actually matters, the Gold Coast heavyweights have announced a tight run of Australian shows this August, marking their first time on stage since 2023 and backing a brand new single, ‘Dead Shadows’, landing May 8th.
For a band that helped carve out Australia’s early 2000s heavy scene, Sunk Loto never really felt like a nostalgia act, they were right there in the same conversation as Sevendust, Korn and Deftones before vanishing in 2007, leaving a gap that took 15 years to properly fill.
When they finally resurfaced in 2022, it wasn’t cautious or half hearted, it was loud, immediate, and sold out fast.

New music and a return to the stage
The upcoming run sees the band lean into both sides of their history, old cuts that haven’t seen a stage in years will sit alongside newer material, including ‘Dead Shadows’ and tracks from what looks to be a looming release.
Of the tour, the band said (via press release): “We’re going to be playing a spread of old and new, songs we haven’t played live in years, our new single and more from the forthcoming release. We can’t wait, see you there!”
‘Dead Shadows’ also comes with a new music video, filmed by Colin Jeffs, it will be the first video release to feature the band since 2003, which says a lot about how long fans have been waiting for this version of the band to exist again.
No barriers, no distance
These shows take place at the Crowbar in Brisbane and Sydney and Melbourne’s Corner Hotel and if the band’s 2022 return proved anything, it’s that there’s still a serious appetite for Sunk Loto. Expect these to move quickly.
