Fans of The Front Bottoms are in luck today with the announcement that their new record, In Sickness & In Flames, will drop next month. The twelve-song collection will be available on the 21st of August – an album that has been highly anticipated since the New Jersey confessional force unleashed their last full-length offering, Going Grey, in 2017.
To celebrate the announcement, the duo have shared a clip for ‘Montgomery Forever’, a single from the upcoming long-player that sees them majorly return to their roots. It represents the third song that’s been streamed from the record so far, in addition to ‘Camouflage‘ and ‘Everyone Blooms‘.
Speaking on In Sickness & In Flames in a statement, the band noted that the album was recorded earlier this year, but at the time the title and its content “meant something completely different to us. We could have never imagined where the world would be just six months later. In true TFB style this album has developed into something of its own that we no longer control the narrative of.”
With all the shit that guitarist/vocalist Brian Sella and drummer Matthew Uychich are referring to, The Front Bottoms recently raised $10,000 to The Center for Cultural Power, a women of colour, artist-led organisation, inspiring artists and culture makers to imagine a world where power is distributed equitably.
