The HU Preview HUN With Expansive New Single ‘Grey Hun’

With HUN now only weeks away, The HU have delivered another preview of what’s coming next.

Mongolian Hunnu Rock pioneers The Hu have shared new single and video ‘Grey Hun’, continuing the rollout for their upcoming third studio album and offering a fresh look at the scale and ambition behind the record.

Rather than leaning entirely into explosive heaviness, ‘Grey Hun’ pushes forward with a driving rhythm and a more reflective message at its core, one centred around identity and self acceptance.

Speaking about the track, Enkush explained:

“Grey Hun is a song that encourages everyone to be comfortable with just being themselves. It started with composing the riff as I imagined a man riding his horse through a vast landscape.”

He added:

“From there, it took a while for us to finish the song because we wanted to make sure to clearly communicate the positive message of the song.”

The release follows previously shared tracks including ‘Lost Soul’ featuring Jonny Hawkins of Nothing More, alongside ‘Warrior Chant’, ‘The Men’ and ‘The Real You’, gradually revealing different sides of what HUN has in store.

Forever evolving

Built across 11 tracks, the upcoming album sees The HU continue evolving the globally recognised sound that has made them one of heavy music’s most distinctive crossover success stories.

Combining throat singing, traditional Mongolian instrumentation and contemporary rock scale, the band says the record has been years in the making:

“We took our time to do this right, and we’re so glad that we’re almost ready to release what we have worked on these past few years,” the band previously said.

“Now, we are also focusing on the performances and working out a brand-new setlist. We want to play bigger venues so we can do extensive production, and bring in some amazing elements of our culture.”
