The Preatures Reunite for ‘Blue Planet Eyes’ 10th Anniversary

Share

Sydney’s beloved indie rockers The Preatures are back—at least for one night. The band, which broke up in 2021 after nearly a decade of highs and lows, is reuniting to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their breakthrough album, Blue Planet Eyes

The show will take place at The Lansdowne on Tuesday, 10 December—the same venue where the band played their first-ever gig.

Fans will also have the chance to grab a limited-edition 10th-anniversary vinyl of Blue Planet Eyes, featuring iconic tracks like ‘Is This How You Feel?’ and ‘Somebody’s Talking’.

Their rise was meteoric, with performances at festivals like Splendour in the Grass, Glastonbury, and Coachella, plus TV spots on Jimmy Kimmel Live. But as often happens, the pressures of touring, financial strain, and personal conflicts began to pile up. By 2021, the band called it quits, leaving behind a legacy but little closure for fans—or the members themselves.

Now, after years apart and time to grow, The Preatures are ready to light the spark again. For long-time followers, the reunion comes with added excitement: guitarist Gideon Bensen, who left in 2013, is back in the fold alongside frontwoman Isabella Manfredi, guitarist Jack Moffitt, bassist Thomas Champion, and drummer Luke Davison.

What to Expect

The upcoming show at The Lansdowne promises a rare and intimate experience as the band revisits the songs that defined their career. Whether this reunion is a one-off or the start of something new remains to be seen, but the band’s statement makes one thing clear—they’re excited to rediscover their roots.

“We dedicated our entire young lives to this group,” they said, reflecting on the highs and lows of their journey. “Our decision to break up was never because of the music. Sometimes you really need to let go of everything to realise and appreciate what you have.”

How to Get Involved

Tickets go on sale at 12pm AEDT on Tuesday, 3 December, and are expected to sell out quickly given the limited capacity of The Lansdowne. Fans can also pre-order the 10th Anniversary Edition of Blue Planet Eyes on vinyl—a keepsake for those who want to mark the occasion.

This reunion is a reminder of what made The Preatures special: their ability to connect deeply with audiences while maintaining a timeless, genre-blurring sound. Whether this is goodbye or a fresh start, one thing is certain—this show will be unforgettable.
