The Pretty Reckless have officially unveiled their latest single “Dear God,” offering another emotionally charged glimpse into the band’s upcoming fifth studio album of the same name.
Arriving ahead of the full record’s release on June 26th via Fearless Records, the title track pushes deeper into the dark, vulnerable and cinematic direction the band have been building toward throughout this album cycle.
Driven by towering guitars and the unmistakable voice of Taylor Momsen, “Dear God” gradually unfolds into a massive emotional release, balancing haunting melodies with explosive instrumentation.

At the centre of the track sits the repeated plea:
“Dear God, can you lift me up, can you take me higher / Dear God, can you lift me up, keep me from a fire.”
Speaking about the song, Momsen described the track as an expression of emotional survival pushed to its breaking point (per press release).
“Dear God is desperation set to music. When life gets that physical, that brutal, you leave your body and start begging something bigger than yourself to pull you out,” she explained.
“That space between heaven and hell isn’t a metaphor. It’s somewhere you actually live.”
The release follows recent singles “Love Me,” “When I Wake Up” and “For I Am Death,” with the latter becoming the band’s eighth Billboard Mainstream Rock No. 1.
Across the upcoming album, The Pretty Reckless appear to be embracing a far more exposed and diaristic approach to songwriting, leaning into themes of vulnerability, identity and emotional collapse without sacrificing the band’s signature hard rock edge.
The new era also arrives after an enormous two years for the group, including global touring alongside AC/DC on the PWR UP Tour, a performance at the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame with Soundgarden and Taylor Momsen’s widely praised appearance honouring Mariah Carey at the 2026 MusiCares gala.
With DEAR GOD now just weeks away, The Pretty Reckless look ready to deliver one of the most personal and uncompromising albums of their career.
