After three long years, Scranton outfit Tigers Jaw have finally released a new single. Fronted by founders Ben Walsh and Brianna Collins, the band have two new official members joining their crew: Teddy Roberts, who has played with them since 2015, and Colin Gorman, an on and off touring member of the act since 2013. The release of single ‘Warn Me’ also marks the group’s signing to Hopeless Records for a forthcoming album that will be out later this year.
“After a million shows, hotels, and karaoke bars we found some time to write and record new music for the first time with Ted and Colin”, the band commented. “If you caught us on tour last fall, this song may sound familiar to you”. A livestream with the expanded crew is planned for the near future.
The song ‘Warn Me’ itself is described by Walsh as about “being blindsided by something positive in your life. It’s that moment when you realize you normalized unhealthy relationships or behaviors. I’ve been hesitant in the past to write from a more positive point of view, but my entire personal life went through an upheaval a few years back and it inspired me to see things through a new lens”. He adds that it’s a “relentlessly driving but fun” track, which “feels like a perfect song to kick off this next chapter of our band.”
Longtime revered collaborator Will Yip produced the track. The last release from Tigers Jaw, spin, was shared with the world via Yip’s Atlantic Records imprint Black Cement Records. “Will Yip did such a great job”, Walsh praises, “of bringing out everyone’s musical personality in our performances.” The keenly awaited seventh studio album from Tigers Jaw is expected to be out later this year.
