The devastating 2008 plane crash

The film explores the devastating 2008 plane crash that left Barker with burns across 65 per cent of his body, forcing him into an 11 week hospital stay and close to 30 surgeries, it also delves into the years of physical and emotional recovery that followed, including treatment for post traumatic stress disorder before his eventual return to the stage and reunion with Blink-182.

Directed by Justin Krook and Michael Dwyer, and produced by Media Weaver Entertainment, Louder Than Fear also shines a light on Barker’s creative impact beyond Blink-182, the drummer has built a career that spans alternative rock, hip-hop, pop and punk, collaborating with artists including Avril Lavigne, Machine Gun Kelly and Post Malone, while helping shape projects through his own labels and production work.

The documentary is expected to offer fans a deeply personal portrait of Barker, peeling back the layers behind the tattoos, the fame and the relentless touring schedule to reveal the resilience that defines his story.

For longtime Blink-182 fans and music lovers alike, Louder Than Fear looks set to be one of the most talked-about music documentaries of 2026.
