Trivium don’t know how to sit still, just months after dropping their ‘Struck Dead’ EP in October, the Florida metal heavyweights have confirmed they’re already back in the studio, fuelling speculation that a full length release could be closer than expected.
The news came straight from frontman Matt Heafy‘s, who took to social media’s instagram, confirming the band had reconvened to start work on new material, no further details were offered, but the message was enough to send fans into theory mode.
“The four of us are back in the studio! Got any messages for us? Leave em here.”
While Heafy didn’t specify what Trivium are working on, the timing has raised eyebrows, the band’s last full length, ‘In The Court Of The Dragon’, landed in 2021 and marked a creative high point, balancing progressive ambition with the kind of sharp, modern metal songwriting Trivium have steadily refined over the past decade.
Another EP
Whether this new studio run leads to another EP, standalone singles, or a full album remains unclear, what is clear is that Trivium are moving with momentum rather than obligation. This doesn’t read like label pressure or contractual filler, it feels more like a band riding a creative wave and choosing to stay in motion.
The timing also works in their favour, Trivium’s touring schedule doesn’t ramp up until June, giving them breathing room to write and experiment before hitting the road hard across Europe’s major summer festivals.
From Download and Rock am Ring to Nova Rock and Resurrection Fest, the band will be playing to massive crowds, many of whom are already hungry for signs of what comes next.
Trivium have built their reputation on consistency and evolution rather than shock reinvention, if they’re back in the studio this soon, it suggests confidence in whatever direction they’re heading. There’s no over the top announcements or hype heavy rollout, just four musicians getting back to work.
