Sebastian Bach Will Take Over From Dee Snider For Twisted Sister’s Upcoming Shows

Sebastian Bach of Skid Row will front hair metal heroes Twisted Sister following lead singer Dee Snider’s shock retirement.

We were a bit floored when Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider announced his retirement from live performances, citing unspecified health issues – the guy always seemed immortal to us. And while Snider did take time to assure his fans that he wasn’t putting his affairs in order, but merely taking it down a gear or two, it was a bit of a blow for hair metal fans with receding hairlines the world over. After all, if time can take its toll on Dee, what chance do the rest of us have?

Snider’s retirement also put the kibosh on Twisted Sister’s imminent 50th anniversary tour, Twisted Forever, Forever Twisted, with the band issuing a statement saying that the future of the band would be determined in the next few weeks.

Well, those few weeks have passed, and now comes the news that while the anniversary tour is still cactus, as per Consequence Of Sound Twisted Sister will be playing a few shows in the northern autumn, with Skid Row’s Sebastian Bach joining long time members Jay Jay French and Eddie Ojeda for the tour. Dates and locations have yet to be announced, but expect a smaller, shorter run than what was planned for Twisted Forever, Forever Twisted.

The band issued a statement on the line up change, saying, “Twisted Sister members Jay Jay French and Eddie Ojeda are thrilled to announce that iconic vocalist and front man Sebastian Bach will be fronting the band for a handful of select dates this fall. These appearances do not affect or conflict with Sebastian’s current or future solo touring schedule, which remains fully intact.”

Bach is currently on a US headlining tour that wraps in April, then it’s into the rehearsal studio with Sister. Feels like a pretty solid choice to me.
