Volumes have shared their upcoming record, Mirror Touch, will be releasing December 12 and have shared the new track S.O.A.P to get us excited.

Volumes have finally announced their upcoming record, Mirror Touch, which is set to release on December 12 via Fearless Records.

This will be the band’s first album in over four years. Vocalist Mike Terry would share that the new album had actually been completed in June, which makes for a mighty impressive turnaround for the band.

It’s rare for a metal band in recent memory to stick to releasing material promptly (looking at you Karnivool), so this quick turnaround is a pleasant surprise for fans, and lucky for us, the new material rips.

Volumes have also shared a brand new single, ‘S.O.A.P’, alongside the new album announcement. The band would share a statement, describing the song as “pure and impure indulgence. Good versus evil. Playing with fire or magic — the lines are blurred here. We self-nurture habits that are deemed immoral, although who is the person making that decisions for us?”

You can listen to the new track, S.O.A.P, below.

‘S.O.A.P’ is the second track Volumes have shared this year, following the band’s earlier track ‘Sidewinder’, which the group shared earlier in March this year. The band’s vocalist, Michael Barr, would describe the track as “an unapologetic hate letter to a world gone mad, especially the corruption within the music industry,” and that it”offers an unfiltered perspective on a society in chaos, with no optimism or positivity. It’s a song that captures the feeling of everything unravelling as we know it.”

From what we’ve heard so far, Mirror Touch is shaping up to be an angry, cathartic release from the band, and it couldn’t arrive at a better time.

Volumes would erupt onto the scene in 2010 and released their debut album, Via, in 2011, which would capture the ears of the growing Djent and Metalcore audience. Over the years, the band would be heroed as one of the leading groups within the progressive metalcore scene, and would tour with the likes of Ice Nine Kills, Northlane, Dance Gavin Dance and more.

Now, with Mirror Touch, the band is looking to cement their status as one of the greats within the scene and continue to show off their unmatched style with dual vocalists Myke Terry and Michael Barr.
