Germany’s legendary Wacken Open Air isn’t wasting any time looking ahead, revealing the first batch of artists locked in for its 2027 edition just hours after this year’s festival wrapped up.
The Wacken 2027 announcement came via a spectacular multimedia presentation on Saturday night, giving metal fans their first look at what is already shaping up to be another enormous lineup (per Kerrang).
Leading the charge are German party metal favourites Electric Callboy, who will finally make their official Wacken Open Air debut after performing an Electric Bassboy set at this year’s festival, they’ll be joined by heavy hitters Five Finger Death Punch, power metal legends Helloween, festival veterans Heaven Shall Burn and Halestorm.
DragonForce have also been confirmed for an exclusive European festival appearance, while Alissa White-Gluz will pull double duty by performing with both Arch Enemy offshoot Blue Medusa and her main band commitments elsewhere.
Extreme metal favourites Napalm Death and Belphegor are also among the early additions.

Australian metalcore fans will also have reason to celebrate, with Make Them Suffer flying the flag among the international lineup alongside some of heavy music’s biggest names.
With more announcements still to come over the coming months, next years edition is already shaping up to be another must attend event for metal fans from around the world.
Wacken Open Air 2027 will take place between Wednesday, July 28th and Saturday, July 31st, with ticket pre-sales already underway here.
