Sydney’s Crowbar will host an official Wacken Open Air 2026 Warm Up Party on Saturday, April 18th, joining a global celebration marking 35 years of the world’s biggest metal festival.
Wacken Open Air has spent three and a half decades turning a small German town into metal’s spiritual capital each year, now for its 35th anniversary, the festival is staging 35 Warm Up shows across 35 countries on the same day.
Sydney is one of only a handful of southern hemisphere cities tapped to fly the flag, for one night, Crowbar becomes Australia’s outpost for the Wacken faithful. You’re not going to miss this one, featuring a super heavy line-up which is bound to be an amazing night.
The Line-Up

The Sydney event will be co-headlined by Our Last Enemy and Witchgrinder, two acts well versed in delivering industrial crunch and modern metal weight on tight club stages.
They’ll be joined by Küntsquäd, Shatterface, and Age of Emergence, rounding out a bill that leans heavy and unapologetic, it’s less about spectacle and more about sweat on the walls and amps pushed to their limits.
While the main Wacken festival unfolds annually in Germany before tens of thousands, these Warm Up shows underline how far its influence stretches, from Europe to Asia, the Americas to Australia, the global metal network locks in on the same date.
