If you’re unfamiliar with The Game Awards, the event is an annual awards ceremony celebrating all things gaming within the year. It’s also an opportunity for developers to showcase trailers for their upcoming games and even announce them at the showcase, making it an exciting event for gamers to fill the ol’ E3 void.
This year’s Game Awards featured massive reveals such as Divinity, Star Wars: Fall of the Old Republic, Control: Resonant, and a new look at an upcoming Tomb Raider game, plus a remaster of the classic Legacy of Atlantis.
Tool’s ‘Forty Six & 2’ would score the trailer for Warlock, a new Dungeons and Dragons game from Wizards of the Coast. Sleep Token would also share a cinematic version of their song ‘Rain’ to open the ceremony, which would play over footage from nominated games.
Following their performance, Evanescence now joins the likes of Twenty One Pilots, CHVRCHES, Green Day, deadmau5, Mick Gordon, and Eddie Vedder from Pearl Jam for artists who have performed at the gaming ceremony.
In addition to the new collaboration with Gunship, The Game Awards would also reveal the new Spotify Singles, which features a cover of ‘I Really Want To Stay At Your House’ from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners from Bilmuri.
Amy Lee would go on to say about the collaboration:
“We’ve been looking for an excuse to work with Gunship for too long, I couldn’t be more excited about this dark new version of Afterlife. Being a part of the Devil May Cry series has been an honor and too much fun. See you at the Game Awards!”
