Yungblud has confirmed the release of Idols II, the second half of his ambitious ‘Idols’ project, and it lands tomorrow, February 20 via Island Records/Locomotion.
Doncaster born artist Yungblud is calling it the beginning of a “new chapter”, one that shifts the emotional lens of the 2025 album’s first instalment. The original ‘Idols’ arrived in June last year and delivered singles like ‘Hello Heaven, Hello’, ‘Lovesick Lullaby’ and ‘Zombie’, pushing Yungblud to his third consecutive UK Number One album (per NME).
But from the start, Dominic Harrison made it clear this was a two part story, Idols II completes that arc.
A Darker Descent – And A Reckoning
“This is it. The second chapter of the ‘Idols’ story,” Harrison shared.
“‘Part 1’ was a journey that helped me reclaim my identity from the darkest position I’ve ever been in my life. ‘Part 2′ is about realising that I am alive, that I am real, that this journey that I’ve been on didn’t kill me.”
“It’s about realising that you can feel invincible when you actually feel yourself. It’s about comprehending that my heart is beating and that my lungs are filling up with air.”
He reunites with producer Matt Schwarz, with the record featuring six new tracks alongside his reworked version of ‘Zombie’, recorded with The Smashing Pumpkins earlier this year, the forthcoming lead single is titled ‘Suburban Requiem’.

Momentum Keeps Building
Since ‘Idols’ first dropped, Yungblud hasn’t slowed, he recently secured another UK Number One with Aerosmith for ‘One More Time’, and earlier this month picked up a Grammy for his rendition of ‘Changes’ at Black Sabbath’s ‘Back to the Beginning’ farewell show.
Idols II arrives at the perfect time with a massive UK arena run kicking off in April, whether the darker tone lands as sharply as promised remains to be seen, but Yungblud is clearly done standing still.
