Yungblud Pulls Out of Liverpool Show But Buys Fans a Round Instead

Share

Yungblud’s Liverpool crowd didn’t get a gig last night – but they did get a drink on him.

The Doncaster-born chaos magnet was set to play Grand Central Hall on Friday (July 11) as part of his intimate Idols release tour, but was forced to pull the show after a gnarly bout of tonsillitis refused to fuck off. It’s the second date he’s had to shelve this week after also bailing on Dundee’s LiveHouse.

“My body is letting me down this week,” he told fans on his Instagram story, explaining he’s mid-steroid treatment with plans to get his tonsils removed altogether.

Still, rather than leave his Liverpool faithful completely in the lurch, he did what only Yungblud would: threw some cash behind the bar at Motel Bar (formerly Metrocola) so fans could raise a glass anyway. All you needed was a ticket to the show and you’d get a free drink. “Go to the bar, play the tunes, and celebrate each other,” he wrote. “That’s what Yungblud is all about.”

It’s classic Dom really. When the show can’t go on, the connection still does. And while the postponed Liverpool and Dundee dates are likely to be rescheduled around his upcoming arena run in April 2026, it’s clear the fans aren’t being left out in the cold.

Assuming the tonsils don’t throw another tantrum, he’s due to be back on stage next week in Bristol and Southampton.

Between surprise cancellations, headlining Black Sabbath’s farewell gig, dropping a brutal new album, and launching a documentary (Are You Ready, Boy?, in cinemas August 20 & 24), Yungblud’s era of full-throttle honesty is in motion. Even when he’s horizontal in bed, wrapped in blankets and self-loathing, he’s still showing up for his people.

Not bad for someone who says he hates resting. Speedy recovery, Dom. We’ll see you in the pit soon enough. Hopefully this time tonsil-free.
