If you missed out on tickets to The Dillinger Escape Plan’s Melbourne show, you’ve just been handed a lifeline.
The Dillinger Escape Plan’s August 13 date at Northcote Theatre has officially sold out, after the band announced an Aussie run of shows in February. A second and final show has now been announced for the following night, August 14, at the same venue. This will be your last shot – it’s been confirmed there will be no additional shows added, and no venue upgrades.
The Dillinger Escape Plan are reforming for the first time since their 2017 farewell tour to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Calculating Infinity, the mathcore masterpiece that launched a thousand riffs and nearly as many stage-dives. The band is bringing their legacy back to life with a short run of shows around the world, and Australia is lucky enough to be part of the chaos.
Revolver Magazine recently named them the greatest live band of all time in a fan and critic poll that saw Dillinger beat out legends like Metallica, Iron Maiden, Tool and Pantera. For those who’ve seen them before, the title checks out. For those who haven’t, this is your second chance – and it might be your last.
Expect chaos. Expect sweat. Expect flying bodies and unhinged performances. The Dillinger Escape Plan leave everything on the stage and then burn the place down behind them.
