Karnivool Plot Aussie Return With Ad Complementum Tour And Tease New Era

Karnivool are back with a 13-date Australian tour, Ad Complementum, previewing new material and hinting at the next phase of their sonic evolution.

Karnivool are coming out of hibernation, and they’re not doing it quietly. After spending the last five months locked away in a Perth studio, the prog-rock heavyweights have announced a massive 13-show national tour dubbed Ad Complementum.

What’s actually waiting on the other side of this tour is still cloaked in mystery, but if the band’s track record is anything to go by, it’s going to be worth the wait. According to frontman Ian Kenny, the time in the studio hasn’t just been productive – it’s been transformative.

“We can’t bloody wait to get out there and share what’s been brewing in the Karnivool riff pot, and show folks what they have to look forward to,” Kenny said.

Set to kick off on July 16 at Hobart’s Odeon Theatre and wrap up October 17 in Perth, the tour spans both major cities and regional stops. Karnivool will hit stages in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, the Gold Coast, Newcastle, Wollongong and more.

More than just a victory lap, this run may well give fans the first taste of the Karnivool’s new material played live for the very first time. Longtime favourites are also set to be reimagined, warped and stretched in true Karnivool fashion, giving even the most diehard fans something unfamiliar to latch onto.

Tickets for Ad Complementum go on presale Friday May 23 at 10am AEST, with general sale opening Monday May 26 at 10am AEST.
