Are AC/DC About To Announce Their Final Australian Tour?

Share

AC/DC Australian tour rumours are heating up, with fans speculating a full-blown return – and possibly the final lap – on home soil.

The thunder is rumbling once again. AC/DC fans are bracing for what could be the biggest homecoming in Australian rock history, as speculation builds around the announcement of a long-awaited Australian leg of the band’s Power Up world tour.

The latest wave of rumours suggests AC/DC could hit the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) for two massive nights in November – specifically the 12th and 16th – according to a source’s report to 3AW’s Rumour File. Meanwhile, Herald Sun has also reported that industry chatter points to AC/DC playing Australian shows in late November or early December, though nothing official has surfaced yet.

The band’s official website remains quiet, but the whispers are growing louder. AC/DC are currently storming through the European leg of their tour, with dates in Berlin, Warsaw, Madrid, Gothenburg and Paris, wrapping up in Edinburgh this August. The North American leg wrapped earlier this year, with sold-out shows and setlists stacked with classics like ‘Thunderstruck’, ‘TNT’, and ‘You Shook Me All Night Long’.

If these whispers prove true, the tour would mark AC/DC’s first Aussie shows since 2015’s Rock or Bust tour. That run featured Stevie Young on rhythm guitar in place of the late Malcolm Young, and Phil Rudd briefly returning to drums before legal issues forced another lineup change.

As it stands now, the live band includes Brian Johnson back on vocals, Angus Young in top form, Stevie Young on rhythm, Chris Chaney on bass, and Matt Laug handling drums. Phil Rudd remains a wildcard, with fans hoping he might return for a symbolic home leg, although it’s possible we’ll continue to see Matt Laug in the seat.

Whether this shapes up to be a historic celebration or a full-circle farewell is still unclear. But with AC/DC forming in Sydney back in 1973, a return to Australia would hold undeniable weight.

AC/DC Australian tour rumours have been circulating since early 2025, when Herald Sun first tipped a potential stadium run to cap off the year. Blunt previously reported the tour would likely follow the band’s U.S. and European legs, with speculation around major venues including ANZ Stadium, the MCG, Suncorp, Adelaide Oval, and Optus Stadium.

If this is the last time we see AC/DC thunder across Australia, it’ll be a moment that lives loud in the country’s rock memory. For now, fans are keeping their ears to the ground, and their fingers on the refresh button.
