Crowbar Sydney turned into a sweat-soaked pressure cooker on Friday night as Windwaker tore through their headline set with unrelenting force.
The chaos kicked off with Heists and Headwreck, who both delivered bone-rattling sets that primed the crowd for the frenzy ahead. By the time Windwaker hit the stage, the packed room was already humming with adrenaline.
Opening with the searing SIRENS and Reject, Windwaker wasted no time whipping the pit into a storm. The walls pulsed, the floor bounced, and by the time The Sitch and Hypnotised landed back-to-back, the entire venue had morphed into a single, thrashing organism.
Fresh off their North American tour with Make Them Suffer, the Melbourne outfit returned home sharper and heavier than ever. Tracks from Empire, Love Language, and HYPERVIOLENCE cut through the dark like lightning bolts, while the band’s signature fusion of melody, menace and groove proved why they’re one of Australia’s most exciting heavy acts right now.
The crowd was relentless – moshing, screaming, and throwing limbs with abandon as Fractured State of Mind, Venom, and Break the Rules tore through the speakers. Toward the end of Windwaker’s set, a massive circle pit erupted, swallowing half the room in controlled chaos.
They closed with the crushing performance of Tabula Rasa, leaving the floor soaked, the walls shaking, and the crowd screaming for more.
Windwaker delivered a set that was explosive, cathartic and downright violent, in the best possible way – and if you’re in Melbourne, it’s your turn this week.
