Sleep Token Is Reportedly On The Death Stranding 2 Soundtrack

Share

Death Stranding 2: On The Beach drops on June 26, but an early review seems to confirm Sleep Token is among the mix of licensed songs on the soundtrack.

It looks like Hideo Kojima was dropping hints when he posted Sleep Token’s music to his socials – the band’s music is reportedly included in the Death Stranding 2: On The Beach soundtrack.

The confirmation comes from a review of Death Stranding 2: On The Beach from STACK Magazine, JB Hi-Fi’s film, TV, tech and gaming publication. In the review, senior editor Amy Flower describes the soundtrack as “banger-heavy,” referencing a number of artists with licensed tracks featuring in-game.

“The soundtrack, too, is banger-heavy, with the likes of Radiohead, Sleep Token, and Kate Bush mixing it up with original songs and soaring, atmospheric instrumental score components,” Flower’s review reads.

Fans have been speculating that Sleep Token would make an appearance in Death Stranding 2: On The Beach for some time, with Hideo Kojima posting photos to social media of him listening to Even In Arcadia in May. The legendary game creator followed up with a screenshot of him listening to the track ‘Emergence’ last week, fuelling the rumours even further that he was teasing at what to expect to hear in-game.

This is by no means the first time Kojima has included heavier acts in his games. Bring Me The Horizon featured in the original Death Stranding with the track ‘Ludens’ in 2019 – and the creator has been a long-time fan of the band (who are also, coincidentally, long-time fans of his work).

Death Stranding 2: On The Beach isn’t out until Thursday, so fans will have to wait til then to confirm exactly what Sleep Token track is bumping in Kojima’s post-apocalyptic world (and whether, in fact, the band is definitely in there at all).
