After a week of Slipknot logos turning up around some of the world’s biggest venues, the band have confirmed exactly what they were teasing: a stadium tour for 2027.
Dubbed the ‘(sic)est Stadium Tour’, the run starts at London’s Wembley Stadium on July 3rd before moving through North America and South America. Bring Me The Horizon will serve as direct support across the entire North American leg (per Next Mosh).
The rest of the bill changes from city to city, and it’s stacked. Acid Bath, Lamb of God, Lorna Shore, Motionless In White, Kublai Khan TX, Polyphia, Loathe and Vended will all appear at different points on the tour.
Slipknot’s Wembley show will also feature Marilyn Manson, Lorna Shore and Hatebreed, while Manson and Hatebreed return for select South American dates in September.
For Australian fans, there is one obvious omission, unfortunately no local dates have been announced at this stage.
The scale of the tour had become increasingly difficult to hide over the past week. Slipknot imagery surfaced in cities around the world before venues including Wembley Stadium, SoFi Stadium, Soldier Field, Fenway Park and Chase Field began posting variations on the band’s “If you’re 555…” tease.
Slipknot are promising an entirely new production for the shows alongside a setlist pulling from across their career.
New album
Meanwhile, guitarist Jim Root is already looking beyond the tour.
Root recently shared footage from the studio and told fans that Slipknot are taking a different approach to the follow-up to 2022’s The End, So Far.
“don’t expect another “Iowa” or “self-titled” record. We’ve been there,” Root wrote in response to one fan on Instagram.
He said the band had been experimenting with its recording process, including tracking live on the floor with drummer Eloy Casagrande and stripping back some of the guitar layering that appeared on later Slipknot albums (per Loudwire).
The developments follow the arrival of ‘Arsenal’ earlier this month, Slipknot’s first new song in more than three years and their first release through their own (sic)est Records imprint.
Slipknot’s artist presale begins September 29th at 10am local time, followed by the Knotfest presale at midday. General tickets go on sale October 2nd at 10am local time.
