Hatebreed Drop ‘The Carrion Choir’ Ahead of New Album ‘Fatal Paradox’

Share

Hatebreed are just over a month out from their first album in six years, and they’ve delivered another preview with ‘The Carrion Choir’.

Connecticut hardcore veterans Hatebreed have released the track alongside a new video ahead of Fatal Paradox, their ninth studio album, which arrives November 6th through BLKIIBLK.

‘The Carrion Choir’ follows ‘Kill Count Increase’ and the album’s title track, giving Hatebreed three songs out in the wild before the full record arrives.

The band’s latest material has so far stayed close to the mix of hardcore, metal and thrash that has defined much of their career rather than using the six year gap between albums as an excuse for a major overhaul.

That probably won’t come as much of a surprise to anyone who has followed Hatebreed for long.

From Satisfaction Is The Death Of Desire and Perseverance through to The Rise of Brutality and Supremacy, the band built a catalogue around direct songs, heavy grooves and breakdowns designed to work just as well in a packed room as they do on record.

Fatal Paradox follows 2020’s Weight of the False Self and runs for 11 tracks. Obituary vocalist John Tardy appears on ‘Sacrifice Season’, while the record closes with Hatebreed taking on Corrosion of Conformity’s ‘Poison Planet’. The album was produced by longtime collaborator Zeuss.

There is also a considerably bigger live schedule waiting for Hatebreed next year.

The band have been confirmed to join Slipknot for a run of 2027 stadium dates, starting at London’s Wembley Stadium on July 3rd. Hatebreed will then reunite with the tour in South America in September for shows in Buenos Aires, Santiago, Lima and Bogotá.

Nearly 30 years after Satisfaction Is The Death Of Desire, Hatebreed still sound most comfortable when there isn’t much distance between the opening riff and the inevitable pile on.

‘The Carrion Choir’ suggests Fatal Paradox won’t be changing that arrangement.

Fatal Paradox arrives November 6th via BLKIIBLK.
