My Chemical Romance Asia and Australia tour rumours are running rampant after a mysterious billboard cropped up in Malaysia.
My Chemical Romance have once again got Asia (& Australia) tour rumours running wild after fans spotted a cryptic billboard in Kuala Lumpur.
A video of a digital billboard in Bukit Bintang (in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) has been doing the rounds of social media. In the video, the billboard flashes with the glitch-laden phrase: “Malaysia, are you okay?” and an image of a rose. The video doesn’t outright name My Chemical Romance.
Another billboard was spotted in Bangsar, KL by a fan – this one read similarly, but also included the Malay phrase “dah bersedia?” The phrase translated to English appears to roughly translate to ‘are you ready?” (editor’s note: this is based on multiple translation tools – any Malay-speaking readers, please let us know if this should be translated differently!)
While that might seem like a bit of a reach, let’s take a look at the facts: roses have long been a symbol used throughout MCR’s history on merch and music videos (can we all think back to the ‘Helena’ music video?). The phrase itself could well be a reference to the iconic 2004 track ‘I’m Not Okay (I Promise)’.
On top of it all, My Chemical Romance has recently announced a run of other shows on what could be the basis for a world tour. The band is set to tour North America – kicking off in July – before hitting South America in January 2026.
If the billboard is in fact related to My Chemical Romance, we could be seeing an Asia tour announcement drop imminently – and to add a bit more conjecture to the mix, maybe an Australian tour to boot (based on world tours generally snaking through Asia and Australia around similar timeframes given the close distance). The band last toured Australia in early 2023 across huge stadium shows which sold out and led to additional dates being added – so it’s pretty clear the appetite for the icons Down Under is well and truly there.
We’ll be keeping a close eye on MCR’s socials for any updates, but for now we’re at the mercy of keen-eyed fans across the globe for more crumbs and hints of what’s to come.
