The gig was a huge one. Held at Villa Park on July 5, it brought together the original Black Sabbath lineup of Ozzy, Iommi, Butler and Ward, for the first time in two decades. Metallica, Pantera, Slayer and Alice in Chains filled out a stacked line up honouring the band that started it all.

Backstage, with the roar of Birmingham still ringing out, Sid got down on one knee. Their son Sidney, now two, was right there for it. The couple have known each other since Ozzfest ‘99, but only went public in 2022. They’ve been mostly private since, save for the occasional social media post and the birth of their son later that year.

It’s not every day that a Slipknot member proposes at a Black Sabbath reunion, but hey, when your Dad’s Ozzy Osbourne, normal goes out the window. No word yet on a wedding date, but if this is how they get engaged, the ceremony’s bound to be anything but boring.

For now, it’s a rare soft moment in a scene built on volume, a family moment wrapped in riffs and legacy.

Back To The Beginning

The ‘Back to the Beginning’ show wasn’t just a final bow for Black Sabbath, it raised funds for Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Acorns Children’s Hospice. A fitting farewell from the godfathers of heavy music, proving Black Sabbath’s legacy isn’t just loud, it’s lasting. For one family backstage? It marked a beginning just as meaningful, a moment that will last forever.
