Secondhand Serenade are returning to Australia after 16 years for the Awake 20th anniversary tour this December.
Secondhand Serenade will return to Australia in December for the first time in 16 years, celebrating the 20th anniversary of debut album Awake with three special shows. For this run, John Vesely will be joined by a live symphony string section, adding new depth and scale to the music that defined a generation.
Vesely first introduced Secondhand Serenade in 2005 with Awake, a collection of deeply personal songs recorded in his California bedroom. Built on acoustic guitar and raw honesty, the record resonated quickly, capturing the attention of the MySpace era and setting the foundation for a career that would go on to include multi-platinum success.
Across the past two decades, Vesely’s writing has consistently tapped into themes of love, vulnerability, and self-discovery. Songs such as ‘Fall For You’, ‘Your Call’ and ‘Maybe’ became anthems for fans around the world, while more recent releases including ‘Find Somebody Else’, ‘Edge Of A Riot’ and ‘Not Enough’ have continued to expand the project’s sound.
The anniversary shows will revisit this catalogue in full, with the orchestral accompaniment offering a new dimension to tracks that have always balanced intimacy with sweeping emotion. Fans can expect a set that moves between quiet reflection and cathartic release, with Vesely’s voice and storytelling at the centre.
