Ahren Stringer (ex-The Amity Affliction) was found unresponsive at home due to a head injury before being rushed to hospital, but is now in a stable condition, according to a new statement from Self Checkout.
Self Checkout, the musical project of ex-The Amity Affliction vocalist Ahren Stringer and Yung Yogi (ex-Volumes member Gus Farias), have released an official update after Stringer suffered a “serious and unexpected emergency” yesterday.
The band’s official Instagram account confirmed Ahren Stringer was in hospital yesterday, just one day prior to the release of their debut single ‘Death Notes.’ No additional details were given as to the nature of the emergency at the time, but the statement confirmed their current focus was on Stringer’s health and recovery.
Now, the band has shared an additional statement updating fans on Stringer’s condition and the nature of the emergency. According to the update, he was found unresponsive at home by his wife after a head injury, but is now stable and continuing to recover.
The statement also hits out at speculation on the internet as to the cause or reason behind Ahren’s hospitalisation in the wake of the initial announcement, describing it as “not accurate or respectful,” and says the priority currently is the musician’s health.
