Metallica has announced a collaboration with Lifeblood, giving donors a limited-edition t-shirt after donating at select centres during the band’s Australian tour.
Metallica has announced that they’ll be collaborating with Australian Red Cross Lifeblood to help drive blood donations.
In conjunction with Metallica’s own foundation, All Within My Hands, Aussie donors who donate blood at select CBD donor centres during the band’s tour in November will receive a limited-edition Metallica t-shirt, designed by the band’s frequent artist SQUINDO.
You can check out the shirt design below.

Pretty neat looking, right? As mentioned above, you can only receive this shirt after donating blood on the dates Metallica performs in select cities throughout the duration of their Australian tour. You can check out the dates and select donor centres here.
- Perth Donor Centre October 25–31
- Adelaide Donor Centre October 29 to November 4
- Melbourne Donor Centre November 1–7
- Brisbane Donor Centre November 5–11
- Sydney Town Hall and York Street Donor Centres November 8–14
Now, if you decide you wanna donate because you want that much-coveted kangaroo shirt (who wouldn’t?), there are a few things you’ll need to get in order.
For a lot of reasons, you can’t simply walk up to the centre to donate on the day. You’ll need to book in advance and help the centre determine if you’re eligible to donate blood first.
To get things moving, you’ll want to head over to Lifeblood’s website and take their eligibility quiz. After answering a handful of questions, the results will determine when you can book in to donate plasma or blood, along with the duration of the donation.
A sad but true fact about blood donation is that only three per cent of Australians donate blood, despite 33 per cent of the population needing blood donations in their lifetimes. So, not only will you be scoring a pretty neat t-shirt, but you’ll also be contributing a much-needed resource to those in need. Talk about a win-win!
If you’d like to know more, visit Lifeblood’s official website to find out how you can book your donation today.
