Militarie Gun Share New Lush-Sounding Single ‘God Owes Me Money’

California alt-rockers Militarie Gun have shared their new single, ‘God Owes Me’, taken from their upcoming album God Save The Gun, releasing October 17 via Loma Vista Recordings.

Militarie Gun is gearing up to release their new album God Save The Gun later this week, and has shared what might be the final pre-release single, ‘God Owes Me Money’.

The song features a lush synth melody, riffing guitars, and a groovy, hypnotic drum beat that maintains the track’s momentum. While it’s a more flourishing track from the group, it shows they’re firing on all cylinders for this upcoming release.

You can listen to the track below:

Since forming in 2020, Militarie Gun have risen in the scene to become one of the most celebrated hardcore bands to come out of California in recent years.

In a press release, frontman Ian Shelton would share that ‘God Owes Me Money’ serves as a “focal point” on the album and is Shelton at his most vulnerable yet.

Shelton would also reveal more about the group’s upcoming third album, admitting that it will dive into personal traumas.

“I’m well aware that being this vulnerable turns my personal trauma into a marketing hook for this album. But I’m fine with it, if not provoking it. Over the past couple years, as I spoke about addiction from the perspective of someone affected by it, I became the one struggling with it. There’s a farcical logic to entering a situation, fully knowing the consequences, and doing it anyway – but that’s where my head was when I started leaning on drinking.”
