The Ghost Inside shook Enmore Theatre on Friday night with a set that felt bigger than a show. We were there to capture it all.
Back in Australia for their first headline tour Down Under in more than a decade, the Los Angeles icons reminded Sydney exactly why their name still carries weight. It wasn’t just nostalgia or legacy doing the work, though. This was a band in full command of their second life, and the crowd matched their every heartbeat.
Homegrown favourites Broken Earth kicked things off, dropping a tight, punchy set that immediately had the floor moving. Their modern metal sound hit hard, warming up a crowd that didn’t need much convincing to lose it early. Then came Bleed from Within, storming in from Glasgow with a precision and fury that filled every corner of the room. Their grooves hit like a freight train, and by the end of their set the entire Enmore was vibrating. The crowd was restless, ready, loud.
When The Ghost Inside appeared, the noise was instant. No drawn-out intro, just five musicians and a thousand voices meeting head-on. Each track landed harder than the last. The floor turned into one pulsing wave of movement, the balcony packed with people (including parents and their children) singing like they’d been waiting ten years to do it again.
The Ghost Inside frontman Jonathan Vigil didn’t waste words, but when he spoke, it carried. The connection between band and audience was unspoken, something forged through everything this band has survived and rebuilt.
The Ghost Inside left everyone walking out into the Sydney night with that unmistakable feeling that they’d just witnessed something that mattered.
