Poppy Announces New Album ‘Empty Hands’ & Shares New Music Video For Song ‘Bruised Sky’

Share

Poppy has announced her new album Empty Hands, releasing January 23rd, and has shared her new track ‘Bruised Sky’ accompanied by a sci-fi-inspired music video.

Poppy continues to have the busiest year in metal, and it doesn’t look like 2026 is going to be quiet for the artist either.

The ‘new way out’ singer announced her new album Empty Hands earlier today, and released the new single ‘Bruised Sky’ along with a stunning sci-fi-inspired music video.

The video, directed by Orie McGinness, who has directed music videos for Bad Omens and Teddy Swims, features Poppy and her band performing in a darkly lit temple reminiscent of Star Wars, as the singer showcases her soaring emo vocals and harsh death metal screams.

The song also continues her collaborations with ex-Bring Me The Horizon member Jordan Fish, who produced 2024’s Negative Spaces, and recent single ‘End of You‘ featuring Amy Lee of Evanescence and Courtney LaPlante of Spiritbox.

You can watch the music video below.

For those with good memories, Poppy actually played ‘Bruised Sky’ back in September during her show at the Palladium in Worcester, Massachusetts, prompting fans to speculate whether a new album announcement was imminent.

Speculation only grew as the singer would share her first single from the new record, ‘Unravel‘, earlier this month, marking her first non-collaborative release of the year.

Poppy’s brand new album Empty Hands is set to be released January 23rd via Sumerian Records. While the artist has yet to release the full tracklist, songs ‘Unravel’ and ‘Bruised Sky’ are set to appear on the 13-track LP.

Australian fans are in for a treat, as Poppy is set to return to Australia for her Constantly Nowhere tour in 2026, kicking things off in January. Which means we’ll be the very first stop for the singer who will be releasing her new album in the middle of her tour while down under.

The ‘I Disagree’ singer is set to start at Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall on Tuesday, January 20, before heading to Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide before wrapping up at Fremantle’s Metropolis on Monday, January 26.

Tour dates below are as follows.

  • Tuesday 20 Jan, 2026 – Fortitude Music Hall, Brisbane
  • Wednesday 21 Jan, 2026 – Roundhouse, Sydney
  • Thursday 22 Jan, 2026 – Forum, Melbourne
