Limp Bizkit’s Estonian show has been cancelled due to Fred Durst’s past remarks about Russia and Ukraine.
Limp Bizkit’s planned 2026 stop in Tallinn has been cancelled before tickets even went on sale. Estonian officials have cited Fred Durst’s past public support for Russia, specifically his comments about Crimea in the mid-2010s, as the reason the band will not be welcomed in the country.
While Estonia sits well north of Ukraine, it directly borders Russia and has been vocal about the ongoing conflict that began with Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022 – with relationships already strained after Russia’s 2014 occupation of Crimea. Given that background, public figures aligning themselves with Russia’s claims over Ukrainian territory remain a sensitive subject in the region.
According to ERR News, the Estonian Ministry’s media advisor Brita Kikkas said the performance was cancelled because of commentary that undermined Ukraine’s legitimacy as a nation. Estonia’s stance was made clear: “Estonia supports Ukraine’s territorial integrity and the principle that every last centimetre of Ukrainian territory belongs to Ukraine,” she said, adding that those (such as Limp Bizkit) who support an aggressor do not belong “in Estonia or in the Estonian cultural space.”
“My position is clear, and I will repeat it: Russia is the aggressor, and Crimea is occupied by Russia. Those who justify Russia’s aggression and the occupation of a neighboring country are not welcome in Estonia. They have no place on Estonian stages and should not be earning income here.”
Durst’s controversial comments date back to 2014 and 2015, when the Limp Bizkit frontman held up a sign onstage reading “Crimea=Russia,” and later described Vladimir Putin as a “great guy with clear moral principles and a nice person.” At the time, Durst was married to Kseniya Beryazina, who is Russian but Crimean-born. Ukraine later banned Durst for five years after he displayed the sign.
Limp Bizkit had announced on November 7 that they would play Tallinn on May 31, 2026, with tickets originally planned to go on sale today (17 November). Instead, the Baltic Live Agency confirmed the cancellation on Facebook (as reported by Metal Injection – at the time of writing, no such post exists on their page), writing, “We inform you that due to circumstances beyond the organiser’s control, the Limp Bizkit concert planned for May 31, 2026, is canceled. Our apologies!”
