The Used Announce A Midsummer Night’s Symphony Sydney Opera House Show

Share

Emo legends The Used have announced they’ll be playing at the Sydney Opera House with a full symphony orchestra and choir in March.

Emos, rise up: The Used are playing the Sydney Opera House in March, in a one-off black tie event titled ‘A Mid Summer Night’s Symphony.’

The announcement was made today (27 November) after the band and Destroy All Lines posted some not-so-subtle teaser videos yesterday of the band’s iconic heart logo above the landmark. Fans were pretty quick to guess what they were hinting at, but now we have the official confirmation that they’ll be performing with a full symphony orchestra and choir at the Sydney Opera House on March 29.

The Used isn’t the first alternative or heavy band to hit the Opera House in recent memory, with Parkway Drive delivering a massive symphonic performance in June this year.

“The Sydney Opera House is one of the most prestigious venues in the world. And we will be playing there with full orchestra and choir!” vocalist Bert McCracken says. “This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for The Used and we couldn’t be more excited. Can’t wait to see you there!”

The band has been on a killer run as of late, with their massive tour of Australia in August and September featuring 2002’s self-titled album, 2004’s In Love And Death and 2007’s Lies For The Liars played in full on consecutive nights across Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide and Fremantle.

It looks like fans are in for some pretty special renditions of The Used’s most iconic tracks with a symphonic and choral twist in March – and this isn’t one to miss. Tickets are likely to sell out faster than you can say Pretty Handsome Awkward, so if you’re wanting to fancy up and hear the magic in person next year, be sure to get in quick.
