Aussie metalcore outfit Alpha Wolf have cancelled their appearance at Good Things this weekend, with Thornhill stepping into the breach.
Bad news for fans of Tasmanian metalcore exponents Alpha Wolf: the Burnie-born, Melbourne-based rockers have had to cancel their set at this weekend’s Good Things festival, with fellow Aussies Thornhill gamely stepping into the breach at the very last second.
Alpha Wolf were scheduled to play Stage 2 at Melbourne’s Flemington Racecourse at 3.30pm, but shortly before 2pm posted to social media that a medical emergency necessitated pulling out at the last minute.

“Unfortunately due to a medical emergency that has arisen this morning, we will be unable to play Good Things Festival this weekend. We never want to cancel shows, we will all be okay but health always comes first. To all our fans that were looking forward to seeing us we promise we will be back as soon as we can. Make sure you catch our best friends Thornhill who will be filling in for us! – AW”
No further information has been released as yet, so the nature of the medical emergency is unknown, nor which member has been laid low, but “we will all be okay” indicates that polite concern is the appropriate response.
That’s a bummer, though. Alpha Wolf have been on a hell of a roll lately; 2025 was a bit quiet for the ferocious five piece, but 2024 was a banger year that saw the release of the third studio album, Half Living Things, which spawned collaborations with Ice T (“Sucks To Suck”) and Redhook (“Cannibal”).
Headlined by Tool and Weezer, Good Things 2025 is taking place at Melbourne’s Flemington Racecourse today, December 5; Sydney Showground on Saturday, December 5; and Brisbane Showground on Sunday, December 7 – but sadly, without Alpha Wolf. Get well soon, lads.
