Deftones are closing out 2025 with something far more meaningful than a year end merch drop, teaming up with GOAL Projects to support Los Jaguares, a youth street soccer team from Sacramento’s Oak Park, the same neighbourhood where the band first cut their teeth.
The collaboration delivers the team’s official 2026 jerseys and a custom soccer ball, all available online now, with every sale helping keep soccer accessible for kids who need it most.
This marks the third chapter in GOAL Projects’ series with Common Goal, pairing musicians with local youth teams to elevate grassroots sport.
For Deftones, the connection was immediate.
“When we heard about this group of kids growing up in our hometown in need of support, we jumped at the opportunity,” the band said. “Soccer and music are both about connection and expression… we’re stoked to be able to give back and make a positive change in their lives.“

Street Soccer USA
Los Jaguares are made up of boys and girls aged eleven to fourteen and are a part of Street Soccer USA, whose programs reach over 75,000 young people across sixteen cities.
Their first encounter with their new sponsors came backstage at Aftershock, where the kids met the band, received signed jerseys and got a glimpse of the world their heroes came from.
GOAL Projects founder Jake Cohen underlined why Deftones were the perfect fit:
“It’s hard to think of a band that better embodies [local impact with international reach] than DEFTONES… Including them in this project lets us celebrate Sacramento culture, support youth facing real challenges, and give fans a meaningful way to engage.”
Street Soccer USA Sacramento’s managing director Lisa Wrightsman echoed the significance:
“Oak Park is home to a lot of underserved and underrepresented families… having a band like the DEFTONES sharing their spotlight… will be something they remember forever.”
