Legendary icon Elton John has praised Turnstile’s recent album NEVER ENOUGH, and revealed their track ‘SEEIN’ STARS’ is among his top 20 songs of the year.
Elton John has revealed that he is, in fact, a massive Turnstile fan in a new episode of his podcast Rock Hour.
In a subscribers-only episode uploaded on December 14, John would speak to Turnstile frontman Brenden Yates, to praise the hardcore group’s new album NEVER ENOUGH, going so far as to call their track ‘SEEIN’ STARS’ as one of his top 20 songs of the year.
John would invite Yates on to talk more about the song, how the band wrote it, and getting to perform the song live in their recent tour. John would share a snippet of the interview on social media, which would see the singer praising Yates and his band with great respect: “What a pleasure it is, because your album, Never Enough, is one of my favourite albums of the year. In fact, your track, ‘SEEIN’ STARS’ is on my top 20 tracks of the year,” John says over a video call with the singer.
John would continue to share that he was “thrilled” for the band, “because the album, Never Enough, is such a great record, it really is a record you should be proud of. I still have a five-CD player, and the album is in my five-CD player all the time,” he’d proudly share.
The brief video snippet would show the end of the interview, with John and Yates sharing their goodbyes. John would tell Yates, “Keep making the music you’re making, because it’s f*cking amazing.” Yates would tell John he’d arrange something with him in London.
“I’ll buy you dinner,” John would happily offer.
“I’ll buy you dessert,” Yates would reply, earning a hearty chuckle from John.
