It’s that time of year again when Australia collectively forgets how to behave in public, queues up their group chats, and argues like it’s a full time job.
triple j’s Hottest 100 of 2025 is almost here, and it’s once again set to take over the country for one sweaty, sunburnt Saturday (as per abc).
After more than two million votes were counted, the only thing left now is the big countdown, from 100 all the way to number one.
When does the triple j Hottest 100 start?
The Hottest 100 of 2025 will be determined tomorrow (January 24th) with the countdown kicking off at midday AEDT, airing live around the country.
Here are the local start times (lock them in):
- ACT: 12pm
- New South Wales: 12pm
- Northern Territory: 10:30am
- Queensland: 11am
- South Australia: 11:30am
- Tasmania: 12pm
- Victoria: 12pm
- Western Australia: 9am
How can I listen?
The Hottest 100 of 2025 will be broadcast on triple j, and you’ve got options.
You can tune in via the triple j website, the ABC listen app, DAB/digital radio, your TV, or the old school classic, FM radio.
Eligible songs/Voting
Songs that were released between December 1st, 2024 and November 30th, 2025 are eligible for the Hottest 100 of 2025, it’s as simple as that. Unfortunately, voting is now closed, so if you missed your chance , you’ll have to yell at the results like the rest of us.
Hottest 100 parties
There are parties happening all around Australia, and Blusher will be showing up at one of them for a post countdown DJ set.

If you’re not ready to let it end, Double J is running a recovery session with the Hottest 100 of 2005 on Sunday, and yes, there’s also the Hottest 200.
At 8am and 4pm, triple j will count down 10 tracks, taking you through numbers 200 to 121.
