Emmure Guitarist Joshua Travis Exits Band

Joshua Travis has reportedly exited Emmure, bringing another shake-up to a band that has never been short on turbulence.

Joshua Travis who joined Emmure in 2016, is said to have confirmed his departure during a Twitch stream, telling viewers he has been out of the band for some time despite no official announcement being made publicly. As of now, neither Emmure nor vocalist Frankie Palmeri have commented (per Lambgoat).

Travis’ exit comes nearly a decade after he stepped into Emmure following the mass departure of the band’s lineup in 2015, when every member except Palmeri walked away.

At the time, bassist Mark Davis, guitarist Jesse Ketive, guitarist Mike Mulholland, and drummer Adam Pierce collectively announced their decision to leave.

“As some of you may or may not have heard, Jesse, Mikael, Adam, and myself are no longer in Emmure,” Davis said in a statement. “We have decided collectively to pursue other endeavors.”

In a later update, Davis revealed the split occurred immediately after a September 9 show in Russia, citing a breakdown in the band’s internal environment following time off for Palmeri’s vocal injury.

“We all expected to come back to a refreshed, productive and positive work environment, but that was not the case,” Davis said. “The most important thing I have to say about all this is that there is no time or room for negativity in life.”

The future

Travis joined Emmure shortly after that implosion, helping stabilise the band’s lineup across multiple releases and tours.

His technical, chaotic guitar style also remained central to The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza, a project he continues to be involved with as the band works on its first new album since 2012.

Emmure are currently slated to support Spite on their NEW WORLD KILLER North American tour this May/June, raising questions about who will fill the guitar role onstage.

For now, Emmure remain active, though once again operating with uncertainty around their lineup.
