Angela Gossow Shoots Down Arch Enemy Reunion Rumours

Share

Scratch that one off your wish list, as former lead singer Angela Gossow says she’s remaining in management.

Rumours ran wild over the weekend that former lead singer turned business manager Angela Gossow might be stepping back on stage with Swedish melodic death metal super group Arch Enemy. It all kicked off when both Gossow and Arch Enemy posted the same rather mysterious promo clip of a torch being passed on social media.

Fans decided – and we speculated along the same lines, so no shade – that this was a reference to Gossow stepping down as lead singer in 201 to spend more time with her family, with Canadian singer Alissa White-Gluz of the Agonist replacing her on vocals. At the time, Gossow wrote that she was “…passing the torch to the super talented Alissa White-Gluz, whom I’ve known as a dear friend and a superb vocalist for many years” and people connected the dots, given that White-Gluz stepped down in November, 2025 after 12 years with the band.

Well, those dots were wrong! They were never meant to be connected! At least, that’s what Angela Gossow is saying, and she’s in a position to know. Commenting on Arch Enemy’s Instagram post, Gossow wrote, “It’s not ME! But thank you for all the love! I am really excited to be involved in this new chapter as the manager💪 This is gonna CRUSH!”

Gossow has previously posited a return to performing, musing in 2018 that she was considering a new extreme metal project, but nothing more has come to pass since then. As for Arch Enemy, they’re still teasing a big forthcoming announcement over on their website, and they do still need a new lead singer, so it’s safe to bet some news will break in that regard before too long.
