Bon Scott Estate Unveils Global 80th Birthday Plans For AC/DC Icon

Share

Bon Scott would have turned 80 on July 9th, 2026, and the Bon Scott Estate is marking the milestone properly.

In partnership with Perryscope Productions, a full scale global celebration has been announced, spanning limited edition collectibles, tribute events, archival releases and international screenings.

Forty six years after his death, the AC/DC frontman’s presence still looms large, his voice remains stitched into rock history, and the estate is leaning into that legacy rather than letting it fade into nostalgia.

Limited Edition Collectibles And Apparel

German audio giant Neumann will release a limited-edition signature product on Bon’s birthday, while The Perth Mint follows up its sold out 2024 coin with new 1oz silver and 1oz gold bars featuring his likeness.

Reg Mombassa has created exclusive commemorative artwork for posters and apparel, Knucklebonz will issue its third Bon Scott statue, based on the 1978 ‘Powerage’ tour, following previous sold out editions.

On the fashion front, Dixxon Flannel Co. will drop a second limited Bon Scott shirt in “Heritage” Tartan, while Copa Football Jerseys will release a collectible “Bon 80” football jersey. Both designs are tied to officially registered Bon Scott tartans created with Gordon Nicolson Kiltmakers in Edinburgh.

Tribute Events Across The Globe

Bonfest in Kirriemuir returns May 1st – 3rd, 2026 for its 20th anniversary, with Reef and former AC/DC drummer Chris Slade confirmed, a pop-up merch store will also appear at the site of the original Scott family bakery.

New York City hosts the third annual Bon’s Birthday Bash on July 6th, while the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame will screen ‘Let There Be Rock: The Movie’ alongside a special memorabilia display.

Meanwhile, AC/DC continue their PWR/UP world tour in 2026, with eleven Bon-era songs currently in the setlist, including ‘Highway To Hell’, ‘Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap’ and ‘T.N.T.’.

A Legacy That Still Cuts Through

As Lars Ulrich put it:

“Bon Scott was the coolest singer ever – the vocal delivery, the tongue-in-cheek double entendres and the magnetic personality. Those early AC/DC records – Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, Let There Be Rock, Powerage, Highway To Hell – are just fucking timeless.” (per press release)

Eight decades on, Bon’s snarl still echoes, find out more here.
