Foo Fighters have announced their 12th studio album, ‘Your Favorite Toy’, setting up a new chapter just months before they return to Australia for a massive 2026–2027 stadium tour.
The record lands April 24th via Roswell/RCA, marking the follow up to 2023’s ‘But Here We Are’, if that album processed grief in real time, ‘Your Favorite Toy’ sounds like a band pushing forward rather than looking back.
The title track dropped alongside the announcement and, according to Dave Grohl, it became the creative turning point for the entire project:
“‘Your Favorite Toy’ really was the key that unlocked the tone and energetic direction of the new album,” Grohl explains. “We stumbled upon it after experimenting with different sounds and dynamics for over a year, and the day it took shape, I knew that we had to follow its lead. It was the fuse to the powder keg of songs we wound up recording for this record. It feels new.” (per Alternative Press)
That last line carries weight. Foo Fighters don’t need reinvention to fill stadiums, yet Grohl framing this record as something that “feels new” suggests they weren’t interested in repeating themselves.
What We Know About ‘Your Favorite Toy’
The album clocks in at ten tracks and includes previously released single ‘Asking For A Friend’, titles like ‘Spit Shine’, ‘Unconditional’, and ‘Amen, Caveman’ hint at contrast, grit and possibly a little bit out there.
If ‘But Here We Are’ was reflective and heavy, this reads like movement, not reckless or nostalgic, just forward.
By the time the band touch down in Australia this November for their already announced stadium run, fans will have had months to absorb the new material, fingers crossed we get at least a handful of these tracks amongst staples like ‘Everlong’ and ‘The Pretender’.
