Darwin’s BASSINTHEGRASS has just stacked its 2026 line-up even higher, adding US rap firestarter Denzel Curry, Swedish electronic heavyweights Galantis, and Aussie icons The Living End to an already loaded bill.
The all ages festival returns to Mindil Beach on Saturday, May 16th, turning the palm fringed Darwin foreshore into a sweat soaked collision of hip hop, rock and dance.
Newly added Denzel Curry brings the kind of volatile stage presence that doesn’t leave room to breathe, while Galantis will land in the Top End armed with festival sized hooks and big room euphoria, it’s a bold flex for a festival that’s built its name on genre crossovers.
Then there’s The Living End, back for the first time in 12 years:
“Can’t believe it’s been 12 years since the last time we played BASSINTHEGRASS, can’t wait to come back and blast through some tracks from our brand-new album I Only Trust Rock n Roll along with all the old faves, see yas soon Darwin,” said frontman Chris Cheney (per press release).

Also newly added, Melbourne’s Playlunch with their ‘bogan punk’ bite, electronic disruptor Ninajirachi, Indigenous hip hop force Kobie Dee, US house name AYYBO, UK underground rep Morty, and Korea’s Oktae with his hybrid sing and DJ energy.
They join a bill already boasting G Flip, Peking Duk, The Teskey Brothers, Ball Park Music, In Hearts Wake, Mallrat, Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers, JessB, Anna Lunoe, Nina Las Vegas and more.
More than 20 acts will stretch across multiple stages, with the Arafura Sea as backdrop, it’s hard to replicate that Top End humidity and late afternoon glow anywhere else on the national circuit.
Tourism and Events NT CEO Suzana Bishop called it “an incredible day of live music and a major drawcard for visitors right across the Territory and Australia,” pointing to the AFL clash between the Gold Coast SUNS and Port Adelaide the night before as added incentive to make a weekend of it (per press release).
General Admission tickets sit at $135 for a limited time before jumping to $155, for Darwin in May, that’s not a bad trade.
